Children’s Ministry

Deacon Jessie Jackson

Children are a blessing from God. We are stewards of God’s children. As stewards of the Abundant Life Children, we are responsible for helping them grow spiritually, physically, intellectually, and emotionally. We provide a spiritual environment in which children are safe, and are taught age-appropriate Bible lessons. These lessons are taught in "Children's Church" during Sunday worship services and special programs such as Vacation Bible School and Black History Celebrations. Fifth Sundays are designated Children & Youth Sunday, an opportunity for the children to minister in the worship service.

The mission of the Children’s Ministry is to lead the children toward knowing and accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and giving their lives to Him, as well as prepare them to become the future spiritual leaders of Abundant Life Christian Ministries.

Compassionate Care Ministry

The Compassionate Care Ministry leads the charge of showing concern and love, in the name of Jesus Christ, for all members who may find themselves in any of the following life challenges:

  • Sick or injured
  • Hospitalized
  • Homebound
  • Bereaved
  • Caregiving
  • In shelters
  • In prison
  • In crisis

Compassionate Care serves the membership primarily to inform, call, visit, and send, all in love:

  • Inform
    Serve as the primary point of contact and ensure church leadership, appropriate support ministries, and congregation are aware of those in need and stay abreast of their well being throughout their present life challenge.
  • Call
    Make phone calls to pray, encourage, and listen.
  • Visit
    Make home and hospital visits to pray, encourage, and listen.
  • Send
    Send cards, flowers, baskets, etc. as expressions of love. Pass along cards and such from other members.

Privacy
Privacy will be respected and confidentiality kept based on desires of each individual.

Church Bulletin
Members' in contact with Compassionate Care will be listed in the Sunday Church Bulletin, enlisting the congregation for prayers, unless otherwise desired based on privacy concerns.

Contact Compassionate Care
If a member finds themselves in one of the above mentioned life situations, it's important for them to contact Compassionate Care as soon as possible, so the church family can express Christ's love in action.

Couples Fellowship

Couples Fellowships are events for couples in a dating, engaged, or marriage relationship. These events aim to provide a healthy and enjoyable environment to build and maintain loving, Christ-centered relationships based on a biblical foundation.

Evangelism Ministry

We have a commission from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19 to "go."  We have purposed in our hearts to be obedient to this end.

The Evangelism Ministry believes in going outside the four walls of the church to seek those who are unchurched.  We strive to follow Jesus' example by seeking those who are lost, rejected and basically marginalized so that they will know that there is hope in Jesus' Christ regardless of their circumstances or challenges.

Food Pantry & S.H.A.R.E. Food Co-op

Sis. Phyllis Smith

The Food Pantry provides food for those in need inside and outside the congregation. We accept non-perishable food, toiletries, gift cards, S.H.A.R.E. package purchases, and cash donations. Those in need may contact the church for assistance.

The S.H.A.R.E. Food Network is an amazing and unique co-op program that is open to everyone. S.H.A.R.E. distributes high quality affordable and nutritious food as a way to build community and strengthen families. Whether you would like to save money on groceries, volunteer in the community, or promote health and wellness, it's worth getting involved with S.H.A.R.E.!. Intercessory Prayer Ministry

We as believers have been called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to intercede for our families, neighbors, church, country and the nations. 
 
Our purpose at Abundant Life Christian Ministries is to hear what the Lord is saying concerning His people thereby breaking strongholds and bringing healing and deliverance to them.
 
As the Intercessory Ministry, we are determined to keep standing in the gap as the Lord requested on behalf of His people. Ezekiel 22:30.

Music Ministry

The Abundant Life Christian Ministries' Music Ministry is an integral part of our church's worship service. The ministry works harmoniously with the Holy Spirit to create a worship atmosphere in preparing the people of God for the delivery of His Word. The Music Ministry members yield each of their individual gifts and talents to the Holy Spirit to magnify and glorify Jesus Christ as one.

The Music Ministry currently consists of four choirs, Voices of Abundance, Joyful Noise Youth Choir, Men's Choir and the Women's Choir.

Through Christ-centered music, the Music Ministry members seek to fulfill the overall mission of the Church to be a great church, serving a great God, committed to His great commandment, to carryout His great commission. We think big and speak big to unleash our uncommon faith in our great God!

Ushers & Greeters Ministry

The Ushers of Abundant Life believe it is an honor to serve in the house of God. It is a blessing to serve our Church and our Pastor . Each Sunday we greet our members and visitors with a warm welcome and pleasant smile. As Ushers it is our goal to maintain spiritual order and peace during the worship service. We set the atmosphere of worship from the door to the pulpit. We keep order with love and always with the spirit of the Lord in our heart and soul. Come join us and be a part of our Usher Ministry.

Women's Ministry

The Abundant Life Women's Ministry's purpose is to equip, edify, empower, strengthen, cultivate, and nurture women in an atmosphere of love in order that they might know their worth in Christ and be all God has ordained they should be in Him. This ministry seeks to minister to the total woman, i.e., mind, body, soul, and spirit, which includes the emotional, cultural/social, and financial needs of the women.

Young Adult Ministry

The ALCM Young Adult Ministry’s mission is to help them with their spiritual growth by studying the word of God, as they gain understanding of the Bible and how to apply it to their everyday lives. We will teach them how to Glorify God in all that they do; learning to be positive influences for the very young and how to respect and assist all others that they come in contact with.
